When will registration open?

We expect to open registration for the 2020 Veterans Alternative Copperhead 5K on October 1, 2019.

When does the race start?

The race will begin at 4:00 PM.

When and where is Packet Pick – Up?

  • Saturday, March 14 - 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM at Glory Days Grill - Palm Harbor (34200 US-19, Palm Harbor, FL 34684)

  • Sunday, March 15 (race day) - Green Lot at Innisbrook Resort, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM*

*We recommend picking up your packet on Saturday to avoid race day delays

What distances are offered?

We will only be offering a 5K distance, which is 3.1 miles.

What is the Valspar Championship?

The Valspar Championship is a professional golf tournament in Florida on the PGA TOUR®, played annually on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook, a Salamander Golf & Spa Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida.

How much does it cost to register for the Veterans Alternative Copperhead 5K ?

  • Early Bird Pricing: October 1, 2019 – December 31, 2019 = $25/person

  • Advance Pricing: January 1, 2020 – February 29, 2020 = $30/person

  • Regular Pricing: March 1, 2020 - March 13, 2020 = $35/person

  • Onsite Packet Pick-Up and Race Day pricing (March 14 & 15) = $40/person

*If you register 10 or more people at one time, registration will be $20/person (this only applies to those that register online, by March 1)

What is included in my registration fee?

  • Chipped timing bib

  • Official race shirt

  • Custom finisher's medal

  • Access to the post-race party, including free food and drinks (soda, water, beer and wine)

  • Ability to purchase one (1) one-day Valspar Championship Tournament ticket at a discounted price (only available until February 23rd)

    • $25 (normally $39) - Thursday, Friday or Sunday

    • $39 - Saturday (includes access to the concert)

  • One (1) certificate for a FREE gallon of paint, courtesy of Valspar®

What does my registration fee go towards?

A portion of the race proceeds will go towards supporting Veterans Alternative.

Are there awards or prizes?

All participants will receive a custom finisher's medal after crossing the finish line. Special awards will be given to the Top Overall Male finisher, Top Overall Female finisher, and the top male and female in the following age categories:
  • 14 and under
  • 15 - 24
  • 25 - 34
  • 35 - 44
  • 45 - 54
  • 55 - 64
  • 65+

Will there be a bag check at the race?

There will NOT be a bag check on race day. All racers are responsible for storing their own items.

How do I get a race shirt?

All registered participants will receive an official race shirt as a part of the registration fee. Adult Male and Female sizing will be available. No youth sizes will be available.

When should I get to the Start Line?

Participants should plan to be at the Start Line area by 3:45 PM. The race will begin promptly at 4:00 PM.

Where is the Start Line?

The race will begin near the Green Parking Lot and will enter the Copperhead Course at Gate 8. Directional signs and race volunteers will help all participants find the start line.

Where can I park?

Parking for all race participants and observers will be available for FREE in the Green Lot at Innisbrook Resort. Check the Parking page for directions to the lot.

Will there be food available after the race?

Yes, food will be available for FREE for all registered race participants at the post-race party on the 17th Hole. You must show your race bib for entry into the post-race party. Spectators are welcomed to join and must purchase a wristband onsite for $15 in order to enter the post-race party tent. Kids 6 & under that did not register for the race are free.

Can someone else pick up my packet?

Yes, we will allow others to pick up your packet.

What is the course like?

The race will begin outside of the fenceline near the Green Parking Lot (under the power lines) and will enter the Copperhead Course at Gate 8. From there, you will traverse the course 1 1/2 times, following the cart path on the back 9. Your second time down the 18th green, you will turn left, through the arch to finish! Can I walk the course?

Absolutely! Walkers are more than welcome to participate. We ask that walkers line up behind other runners at the start of the event. Walkers should not walk in groups of more than three wide as to not impede the paths of others.

Can I use a jogging/walking stroller?

Jogging/Walking strollers are permitted; however, these participants must line up behind all other participants at the start line. Bicycles, scooters, roller blades, and other forms of wheeled motorization are prohibited.

Can I run/walk with my pet?

Pets are not permitted to run/walk with participants. Service animals are permitted.

Where can my family/friends watch the race?

Spectators will be able to view the race from several areas throughout the course as well as the Start and Finish Line areas.

Do I need my email confirmation?

Occasionally confirmation emails go into your spam or junk folder.  If you are unsure if you are registered, please email Jenna Grooms at jgrooms@growyourevent.com. Email confirmations are NOT needed for packet pickup.

Do you offer refunds or deferrals?

There are no refunds or deferrals.  The no-refund policy includes requests made due to injury, surgery, pregnancy, personal circumstances, date conflicts and professional commitments.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

Participants may not transfer their registration to someone else.
